One of the key problems about dieting is not a physical problem but a mindset problem. We should be a positive thinker and have a winner state of mind.

The word diet by itself implies restrictions of some kind.

It implies that you have to discipline yourself to achieve results.

It implies will power. But we all know that it is not only a matter of will power. If this was so simple, millions of people wouldn't be overweight.

Whatever weight loss diet or weight management program you choose to follow, it must be a program that you are going to enjoy.

It shouldn't be something you force on yourself; otherwise it is not something you are going to adhere to for very long. It should be regarded as a new life style, a healthy life style that you are going to enjoy for the rest of your life.

Unless you enjoy the process, you won't be able to discipline yourself for very long. You will give up before achieving the desired result.

That is why it is so important to start your journey for the right reason: because you have a strong desire to do it and you will do it for yourself and for your own reasons. You are not doing this for someone else.

If you wish to succeed to manage your weight and maintain the desired weight, it can only be for yourself.

Human nature does not like change very much.

Unless we prepare ourselves to the change, it is going to be a constant battle between our current habits and the result we are looking for. Much too often our habits won the battle.

It should not be a battle.


It should be a well prepared program where you take your habits into account. Habits can be changed, habits can be nurtured and habits can be acquired.

The point is that, unless we have a health problem, most of us had a healthy weight, what is called our ideal weight, at one point in our life. Then the weight started to grow. And unless we took care of the extra weight it just accumulated.
